Ignore URLs
Tell LinkAlarm to ignore parts of your site, or other sites.
This setting lets you specify URLs to be avoided when checking your site. You can ignore areas of your own site, or links to other sites.
You may want to ignore links to certain servers, say ad servers or web rings. These servers usually don't allow robots like LinkAlarm to verify links. You can speed up checking considerably by telling LinkAlarm NOT to check specific links.
The asterisk (*) is a wildcard character, replacing any number of characters.
Adding http://www.myhost.com/cgi-bin* will not check any links pointing to the cgi-bin directory on www.myhost.com.
Ignoring */statistics/* would stop LinkAlarm checking your web statistics pages (if you have them in a directory called "statistics").
Ignoring http://www.myhost.com/*.cfm would stop LinkAlarm checking your Cold Fusion based pages.
Ignoring http://db.myhost.com/* would stop LinkAlarm hitting your database server.
Ignore URLs is available in Site Control as well as from any report. Use the "No Entry" signs to ignore reported pages or links.
The Links Not Checked section of your LinkAlarm report shows which pages and links were affected by your Ignore settings.
